Capture, glance, confirm, done
The entire app is one small loop. Here it is start to finish. About a minute to learn, then you’ll never think about it again.
So you’ve got Edmund installed. There’s no account to make and no onboarding wall. Open it and the cursor’s already waiting for a thought.
Capture first, decide never
Type the thought, or tap the mic and say it. Edmund transcribes on-device, so your voice never leaves the phone. Don’t stop to work out which project it belongs to, what to call it, or where it should end up. That’s the whole point: you capture, and Edmund decides. Save it and you’re done, the thought caught before it had a chance to wander off.
There are a lot of other front doors, from Siri to the Action button to the share sheet, and they all land in the same place. Every way to capture has the lot.
Edmund reads it and files it
The moment you save, a model reads the note and works out what kind of note it is, which of your projects it belongs to, and what to call it. On a recent iPhone or Mac that runs entirely on your device with Apple’s own models: free, offline, nothing sent anywhere. Add your own Anthropic key and it uses that instead, but the zero-key path is the real app, not a trial.
How well it guesses rides almost entirely on your projects, because a project isn’t a folder you tidy notes into afterwards, it’s the thing triage matches against. That’s the one part worth slowing down for, and it has a guide of its own.
You confirm it in the Inbox
Everything triaged lands in the Inbox with Edmund’s guess attached: the project it picked, the type it reckons it is, and how sure it is. Glance at it when it suits you, not when an app decides to nag. Right guess, confirm it in a tap. Wrong one, change it, and Edmund learns from the correction so the next is closer.
Then keep it, or send it onward
A confirmed note can just live in Edmund, since plenty of thoughts only need catching. When it’s real work, route it: Edmund turns the note into a properly formed issue in Linear, GitHub, Jira, Notion or wherever that project points, title and body already filled in. Close it on the other side and the note ticks over to Done back here, on its own.
That’s the loop. Capture, glance, confirm, done. The same thing works the same way on your iPad, your Mac and your Watch, because it’s all one app.
