Terms of use

Edmund is made by Will Wilson, a sole trader in England, and sold only through Apple’s App Store. By using Edmund you agree to these terms together with Apple’s licence below.

Apple’s licence does the heavy lifting

Because you get Edmund from the App Store, your use of the app is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). That covers the licence to use the app, warranties, liability and intellectual property in the usual way, and it’s the agreement that applies if anything here and it ever disagree. These terms simply add the few things specific to Edmund.

What Edmund is, and isn’t

Edmund helps you capture a thought, lets on-device AI sort it, and lets you keep it or route it onward to a service like Linear, GitHub or Apple Reminders. It’s a tool to organise your own notes. It is not a backup service, and the AI’s suggestions (the title, type, project or classification it proposes) are best-effort help, not advice or a guarantee. Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose, and check anything important before you rely on it.

Buying, and your subscription

Edmund is free to download with a generous free tier. Edmund Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription that removes the limits; the current price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app and at checkout. Apple handles all billing. Your subscription is charged to your Apple Account, renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal, and is managed (and cancelled) in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Connected services and your own AI key

If you connect Linear, GitHub or Reminders, or add your own Anthropic API key for a cloud AI engine, those services are run by third parties under their own terms, and any costs of using your own key are yours. I’m not responsible for the availability, accuracy or actions of services you choose to connect.

Fair use

Please use Edmund lawfully, and don’t try to disrupt, reverse-engineer or abuse it or the services it connects to. When you route a note to a third-party service, you’re responsible for following that service’s terms too.

Your statutory rights, and liability

Nothing in these terms or the Apple EULA removes the rights you have under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If Edmund isn’t as described, of satisfactory quality, or fit for its purpose, you have rights that can’t be signed away. Subject to those rights and to the Apple EULA, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential loss; nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law won’t let me limit.

Changes, law and contact

I may update these terms as Edmund changes; if a change is significant I’ll note it here and update the date above, and you’re free to stop using Edmund if you don’t agree. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the part of the UK where you live, and can bring proceedings there. Questions? hello@edmundapp.com.
