Refunds

Edmund is sold through the App Store, so Apple handles billing and refunds. Here’s exactly how, and where your rights still apply.

Last updated June 2026 · England & Wales

Everything Edmund charges for goes through Apple. Apple is the seller, takes the payment, and handles refunds, so I can’t process them myself. The good news is that asking is quick.

Try before you pay

You shouldn’t need a refund, because you shouldn’t pay until Edmund has earned it. There’s a real free tier you can use indefinitely, and Pro starts with a free trial. If it isn’t for you, cancel before the trial ends, at least 24 hours beforehand, and you’re never charged.

How to request a refund

Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
  2. Find your Edmund subscription charge.
  3. Choose “Request a refund”, pick a reason, and submit.

You can also do this from Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, or from the receipt Apple emailed you. Apple reviews each request and processes any refund to your original payment method. Because Apple is the seller, Apple also looks after the standard 14-day cancellation right for digital purchases at the point of sale.

Cancelling and auto-renewal

A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling stops the next charge; it doesn’t, by itself, refund the period you’re in, and you keep Pro until it ends. Manage all of this in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

If something’s actually wrong

The above is about changing your mind. Separately, if Edmund is faulty, not as described, of unsatisfactory quality, or a bug stopped Pro working, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. A remedy isn’t a favour, it’s your entitlement. Apple administers the refund, but please tell me too: I’ll happily back up your request, and where it’s clearly a problem with the app I’ll do what I can to put it right. Nothing here reduces your statutory rights.
