Route a thought to Shortcut

Turn a captured note into a Shortcut story, dropped into the team and workflow state you choose, with the full note as its description.

How it works

From a thought to a Shortcut story

  1. 1
    Capture and let Edmund triage
Type or dictate it. On-device AI reads it and files it into the right project.
  2. 2
    Tap Route, choose Shortcut
It’s created in the team and workflow state you set up.
  3. 3
    Tidy the title and send
Edit the title and body if you like, then it lands as a story, linked back to the note.

CloudKit import bursts hammer the count, so coalesce them and the badge updates once, not forty times.

Once it’s routed

Route it here.
Finish it in Shortcut.

Routing isn’t a one-way dump. A real story appears in Shortcut, it stays linked to the note, and finishing it there flips the note to Done back in Edmund.

A new story appears in Shortcut

The summary becomes the story name and the full note travels across as clean Markdown, dropped into the team and workflow state you chose.

Complete the story in Shortcut and the note advances to Done, one direction only, and it never re-opens a note you’ve already closed.

What carries over

Everything the issue needs, already filled in.

Title
The note’s one-line summary becomes the story name.
Description
The full note travels across as clean Markdown.
Team & workflow
Filed in the team and workflow state you chose.
Two-way done
Complete the story in Shortcut and the note marks Done.
Get started

Connect Shortcut in a minute

Shortcut has no OAuth, so an API token is the way in. Grab one, paste it, and you’re set. A minute, once.

How you connect
API token
Coming to the App Store
  1. 1
    Create an API token
In Shortcut, go to Settings → API Tokens and generate one.
  2. 2
    Add it in Edmund
Paste the token into Settings → Integrations → Shortcut.
  3. 3
    Pick team and workflow
Choose the team and workflow state each project should route to.
  4. 4
    Route your first note
It lands as a story, linked back to the note.

Edmund only talks to Shortcut the moment you choose to route, never in the background. Remove the token any time from Settings.

No TestFlight, no commitment. Leave your email and I’ll tell you the day Edmund lands on the App Store. Nothing else, ever.
